The primary objective of Code Compliance is to educate and assist residents in complying with Town codes to promote better health and safety within the community.
Goals
- Through a cooperative effort between the Town of Northlake and its citizens, we will make the Town of Northlake a safer and cleaner place to live.
- To deliver prompt, courteous, and professional service.
- To obtain willing compliance.
- To encourage responsible property maintenance.
Common Code Violations
High Weeds and Grass: 7.02.002 – Grass must be cut when height is greater than 12 inches.
- Mosquitoes hide and rest in tall grass and weeds. Keep your grass as short as possible and mow as frequently as possible. Also, ensure bushes and shrubs are well-trimmed.
- Not only are high grass and weeds unsightly, but they also pose fire hazards, block visibility, harbor rodents and snakes and contribute to pests like mosquitoes and chiggers.
Trash & Debris: 7.02.003 – Rubbish, brush or other unsanitary matter.
- Attracts pest and rodents.
- Decreases property values and is unsightly.
Illegal Placement of Bandit Signs
- Citizens or HOA’s can remove bandit signs.
- If the sign is questionable, call the code enforcement officer, and they can remove the sign.
