Notice of Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given that public hearings will be held before the Northlake Planning and Zoning Commission at a meeting to begin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Northlake Town Hall, 1500 Commons Circle, Suite 300, Northlake, Texas, and before the Northlake Town Council on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at a meeting to begin at 5:30 pm at Northlake Town Hall, 1500 Commons Circle, Suite 300, Northlake, Texas. The purpose of the hearings is to hear comments for or against a request for a Specific Use Permit (SUP) to allow an addition to an accessory structure which would cause it to exceed 50% of the area of the home (primary structure) on Lot 9, Block 2, North Ridge Estates, a 1.06-acre lot located at 7801 Meadow Ridge Drive, and zoned RE – Rural Estate. Bryan & Michelle Nickelson are the owners/applicants. 

The applicant has requested a Specific Use Permit (SUP) to allow an addition to an 1,800 square-foot accessory structure currently under construction for a total covered area of 2,280 square feet which exceeds the maximum area allowed for accessory structures without a SUP, 50% of the primary structure (the home).  The gross building area of the home is 3,708 square feet.  The proposed addition is an awning extension to create an open porch on the side of the building.
